Therapy should not be a lifelong process. My philosophy surprises many people, but I firmly believe that psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy and other forms of treatment are a means to an end. From my offices in New York City and Westchester County, New York, I run a practice primarily focused on holistic methods with the incorporation of traditional treatments as needed.

Through this unique approach, we can work together to accomplish more in a shorter period of time. I’ll guide your path with a caring, nonjudgmental touch and supervise your progress as you grow in wellness. The goal? To gain freedom from the challenges you’ve faced and to live your best possible life.

dr joy clark balanced rocks whiteAs a board-certified psychiatrist and a New York State-licensed physician, my practice is based on a holistic style of cognitive behavior therapy. This form of psychotherapy is geared toward positively influencing problematic and dysfunctional emotions and behaviors through a goal-oriented, systematic procedure.

Unlike many others in my field, I approach cognitive behavioral therapy from a holistic viewpoint, adding hypnotherapy to the traditional methods to eliminate subconscious blocks to success. This has proven to deliver faster and permanent results for my clients. Working with you privately from either my office in Westchester County, New York or in New York City, my goal is to help you embrace wellness, so you can live free of symptoms without dependence on a therapist.

I am a graduate of Barnard College/Columbia University (1986) as well as the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (1991) where I earned my medical degree. I completed postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston) in 1995. I also completed postgraduate training in psychiatry at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital (New York) in 2003 after which I became board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

I also volunteer with GiveAnHour.org, a nonprofit organization that provides free mental health services to returning war veterans and their families.
